Summer Family Sunday School
I thought this would be a good time and place to share the vision for Summer Family Sunday School.
As you might know, at past VBS’s we have not been able to offer VBS families the option of Sunday School until the Fall.
This Summer we have the opportunity to gather our SLF group together on a weekly basis to share in the Word, prayer and fellowship. And we also have the opportunity to invite families without a church home to come with their kids.
The first couple of weeks have been transitional, as we finish up the other adult Bible Study. But my hope is that we will get better participation from our SLF Families as the Summer progresses.
Your attendance is critical to making our Summer Family Sunday School a success. I hope to see you there!

One bite at a time...
How do you devour the many action items and details that we will need to address in order to become a church that is worshipping every week in Sahuarita? One bite…
We took a good bite on Saturday at our Planning Retreat. Look for the minutes in an email or in your box for a recap of everything that is going on at SLF. Things are moving and I encourage you to look for ways that you can use your talents to help us. I strongly believe in empowering people, so if you need help getting started please feel free to talk with me about how you are feeling or what I can do to help.
I want to close with this logo that Kari Skinner adapted from her painting. The name in the logo can of course be changed in due time. Until we become a church, I think Sahuarita Lutheran Fellowship will be our functional name. It gets at the present reality that we are a group of committed Christ-Followers, gathered around the goal of starting a church community in Sahuarita. Continue to invite people into our group whenever the opportunity arises. Whether it is to participate in VBS or our Fellowship Events, to come to a Preview Worship Service, or to be a part of a Small Group…there are opportunities to be a part of this positive caring community.
Our new Mission Statement: Growing in God’s Grace and Connecting our Community to Christ. Note: 3 “G’s” and 3 “C’s”. Easy to remember. There will be a test at the next planning meeting. J
May you grow in God’s Grace this week,
Vicar Steve

Humble Beginnings
I LOVE this Canvas that Kari Skinner painted for us.
We don’t have a church or land yet, but I see this as the beginnings of our identity.
You will see this canvas at all of our SLF events.
My hope is that this mural will remind us of our focus on Christ
and the New Life that we have in His Resurrection. - Vicar Steve

April Events
Now that we have celebrated the joy of the Resurrection, I am excited to see people coming together with ideas.
The early goal is to meet regularly as a group. The best way to do this is to meet on Sunday mornings between services for Bible Study and Fellowship. We will also try to schedule two monthly events: a planning meeting and a social event.
I need your help: With planning and organizing the social events, so if you have some good ideas and would like to help out, please give me a call at the office.
